Poems 23

Interrupted By Mysteries

It was far too soon
to bring this talk to a close
there is still so much unsaid.
I had assumptions
that we would have
many more years together,
as well as much more time to enjoy.

I still had a million
more “I love yous” to say,
I hadn’t done saying them yet.
I wanted you to know
that you were my life;
you were my lover;
you were my friend.

I was not yet ready
to see you go away.
out into that crazy world by yourself.
I wish, we could have stayed
here together
and I wish, I could have hugged you
with all my heart.

General, Poems 23, short poems

Lifeless Immortal

Wind chime melodies,
Prayers echoing,
My mental clock.
Death nears.
My trembling
Lungs draw in priceless air,
Which rushes
To my lifeless limbs,
Even those maimed by family.
I’ve learned
That I don’t have to be old
To live long
Or bold to endure hardship.
The wind’s murmuring tunes,
Fear’s thunderous call,
My room’s clock
ticks silently as Immortality approach.

It’s more than just Love

I don’t love you,
It’s more than love.
Everyone loves
But to my wonder
We never do anything bad
To a stranger.
But we hurt the one
We love the most!
That’s why
I don’t want to love you
I want to make you feel
That you don’t know
You saved me from drowning
You are the only thing
In my life that makes me feel better
You are my heart
Without you
There is no Shuhab.

Living and Learning

Wanting to fly,
But afraid of heights.
Not everyone
Is suppose to be perfect.
We’re not suppose to enjoy
We just live instead of existing.
Oh you sweet love
My beautiful chick
You flew home
Now I’m dismantling
The empty nest.
Who will I feed to now?
Oh, I forgot,
I was short of food
That’s why you left, no?
And I must accept, so…
If it was a mistake,
There lays the debate
If it had a beginning,
It must have an opening.
Living and learning
To lose, to regret
Forgiving and forgetting
To choose, to live.

Breakup Poems, Next Century!

Your New Favorite Book!

“When I stare at the sky, I see you. When I stare out into the ocean, I see you. When I’m looking at the moon, I see you. Oh GOD! Would you move aside, you’re constantly getting in my way.” Hussein Nishah

It seems
You found your new favorite book
[In him] One that keeps you alive
And awake at night
Turning his pages
Forward and previous.
Fingers lingering on him
So you don’t lose your place.
It seems
You found my replacement
The one that makes you feel good
And fresh after work
Who handles your mood swings
Better than I [Shuhab] ever could
Stay alive stay faithful
Happy reading your new favorite book.
God bless you both.
